We don’t confess our sins for ourselves, but for the other person. The people gave thanks to God and confessed their sins in this prayer.

Christ declared that His coming fulfilled the Old Testament scriptures.

Matthew 22:37-40
And set up over his head his accusation written, this is Jesus the King of the Jews. Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.
And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Contrast what Saul and David did in response to what God told them, and the end result. When a door opens up, it may not be from God. This is why it is so important to be in God’s Word daily, so we know what the Bible says.

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Galilee was an area full of commerce, lots of money and outside business. Jesus spent most of His time in the Galilee area among common people. Saying in the South/Judah: “Can anything good come out of Galilee?”
